Conservative States

Legal

Terms of Use

Effective Date: October 30, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Conservative States. These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Conservative States, LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Conservative States web application, the organization pages we host for advocacy organizations, our iPhone, iPad, and Android apps (the "App"), our websites, and any content, functionality, and services offered through them (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading or installing the App, creating an account, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

The Service is intended for use by residents of the United States. We make no representations that the Service is appropriate or available for use in other locations.

3. Accounts and the App

3.1 Account Creation

To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. Your address is used to identify the legislators who represent you; you must give the address where you live.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

3.3 One Account Per Person

Each user may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or rate limits is prohibited.

3.4 Signed-in Devices

We may limit the number of devices that can be signed in to one account at the same time. Signing in on an additional device may sign out an earlier one.

3.5 License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App on a mobile device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

3.6 App Store Terms

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of the store from which you obtained it. You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Conservative States, LLC only, and not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC; that we, not Apple or Google, are solely responsible for the App and its content, maintenance, and support; and that Apple and Google have no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App. To the extent any warranty applies and the App fails to conform to it, you may notify the store operator for a refund of the purchase price, if any, and the store operator has no other warranty obligation. We, not the store operator, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection or similar laws, and for the investigation, defense, and resolution of any third-party claim that the App infringes intellectual property rights. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to the App and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

3.7 Updates and Device Requirements

We may release updates to the App from time to time, and some updates may be required to continue using the Service. The App requires a compatible device and operating system version and an Internet connection. Your mobile carrier's data and messaging rates may apply.

4. Description of Service

Conservative States provides a platform that enables users to:

  • Browse and search state and federal legislative bills and their status
  • Track bills of interest and receive email and push notifications about updates
  • View information about legislators, including their committees and voting records
  • Write to their legislators and have those letters delivered through the user's own connected email account, the user's mail app, or the official contact channels an office provides
  • Access AI-generated bill summaries and analysis
  • For advocacy organizations, publish action pages, send alerts to their supporters, and track legislation as a team

Legislative data is sourced from LegiScan and official state and federal government sources. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free.

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 Permitted Uses

You may use the Service for lawful purposes consistent with civic engagement, including researching legislation, communicating with your elected representatives, and staying informed about legislative activity.

5.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service to send spam, harassing, threatening, or abusive communications
  • Send mass unsolicited emails or exceed reasonable communication limits
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, address, or affiliation
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or computer systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or technical features of the Service, the App, or the devices on which it runs
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to access the Service in an unauthorized manner
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without authorization
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service
  • Use the Service to distribute malware or other harmful code
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights

5.3 Letters to Legislators

When using the Service to write to legislators, you agree to:

  • Communicate respectfully and professionally
  • Only write to legislators who represent your district or have jurisdiction over matters affecting you
  • Provide accurate contact information in your communications
  • Comply with all applicable laws regarding electronic communications
  • Respect the limits designed to prevent abuse, including one letter per stage of a bill's progress and daily sending limits

Letters are sent as you wrote them, signed with your name and, unless you turn this off in Settings, your street address, so that the office can confirm you are a constituent. Where a legislator's office does not accept email, we may deliver your letter through the office's official web contact form or, for members of Congress, through the constituent-communication systems operated by the House and Senate. In every case the letter is delivered on your behalf and in your name.

6. Subscriptions, Trials, and Payment

6.1 Plans

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. We offer a plan covering your state legislature and a plan that adds the U.S. Congress. Current prices are shown on our website at the time of purchase. Subscriptions are purchased on our website and billed through our payment processor, Stripe; the App does not sell subscriptions. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the plan you select.

6.2 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as selected) at the then-current price until you cancel.

6.3 Free Trials

If your subscription begins with a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. A free trial is available once per customer.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from Settings on the website or in the App, which opens your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Deleting the App from your device does not cancel your subscription.

6.5 Refunds

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial billing periods.

6.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. The new price applies at your next renewal after the notice, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

6.7 Organizations

Advocacy organizations use the Service under a separate agreement or order form with us, which governs their fees and term. Where that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the agreement controls for the organization.

7. Organizations and Supporters

7.1 Organization Accounts

We open organization accounts for advocacy organizations. An organization is responsible for the people it invites to its account, for the content it publishes through the Service (including action pages, letters, alerts, and reports), for the accuracy of the positions it attributes to bills and legislators, and for its communications with its supporters. An organization must have a lawful basis for every message it sends through the Service and must honor unsubscribe requests.

7.2 Supporters

If you sign up or take action on an organization's page, the information you provide and the actions you take there are shared with that organization, which may contact you according to the consents you gave. The organization's own practices govern how it uses that information; our Privacy Policy describes what we do with it. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message or by contacting the organization or us.

7.3 Connected Tools

Organizations may access their own data through our API and through tools they connect to the Service, such as a CRM or an AI assistant. The organization is responsible for the tools it connects and for keeping its API keys confidential. Access is limited to what the organization's account allows.

7.4 Published Content

Content an organization publishes through the Service is the organization's, not ours. We may remove or suspend content or accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

8. Third-Party Services and Integrations

8.1 Email Service Connections

The Service allows you to connect your Google Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account to send letters to legislators. By connecting these accounts, you authorize us to send emails on your behalf. Your use of these third-party services is also subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

8.2 Data Sources

Legislative data is provided by LegiScan and official state and federal government sources. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party data.

8.3 AI-Generated Content

The Service may provide AI-generated bill summaries, analysis, and letter drafts. This content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as legal advice. AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing any letter before you send it.

8.4 Device Permissions and Notifications

The App may ask permission to send push notifications and to use your device's biometric authentication. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings. Notifications are provided for your convenience; we do not guarantee that every notification will be delivered or delivered on time, and you should not rely on them as your only source of information about a bill.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding user content and third-party data), features, and functionality are owned by Conservative States, LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our prior written consent.

9.2 User Content

You retain ownership of content you create through the Service (such as letters you compose). By using the Service to send communications, you grant us a limited license to process and transmit that content as necessary to provide the Service.

9.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable license to use such feedback without compensation to you.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the Service will be corrected
  • Legislative data is complete, current, or accurate
  • Letters sent through the Service will be delivered, received, or read

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CONSERVATIVE STATES, LLC, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service, including any organization
  • Any content obtained from the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Failure of letters to be delivered to intended recipients
  • Any errors or inaccuracies in legislative data or AI-generated content

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Conservative States, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
  • Any content you submit or transmit through the Service
  • Your communications with legislators, supporters, or other third parties

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time from Settings on the website or in the App, or by contacting us. Deleting your account ends your right to use the Service; an active subscription is canceled as described in Section 6.4.

13.2 By Us

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, you agree to submit to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any arbitration or proceeding shall be limited to the dispute between us individually. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and in the App and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for changes.

16. General Provisions

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and, for organizations, their agreement with us, constitute the entire agreement between you and Conservative States, LLC regarding your use of the Service.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
